Former Alter Grad Looking To Make U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team

Alter graduate Megan Courtney is on her way to becoming a member of the U.S. Volleyball team for the 2020 Games.

Courtney, a 2012 graduate, is a member of the U.S. Women's National volleyball team that swept their four opponents in Shreveport-Bossier City Louisiana. The No. 3 ranked U.S. national team earned a spot in 2020 for the Tokyo Games.

Courtney won't know until next  year whether she will be on the final 12-member roster until next year. If she makes the team, the number one goal is to claim their first ever gold medal, settling for silver in 2012, 2008 and 1984.

Courtney, a 6"1 libero(free)/outside hitter helped Penn State to consecutive NCAA national championships in 2013-14 and was a part of Alter's Division II state runner up teams in 11' and 08'.
